Meet the Physiotherapist

Stefan graduated with a Masters of Physiotherapy from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2019 and has over six years’ experience delivering high-quality, evidence-based musculoskeletal care across private practice, elite sport and the NHS.

He currently works as a Specialist Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapist within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde while also providing expert mobile physiotherapy through Sparkes Physiotherapy. Stefan takes a patient-centred approach, combining thorough assessment, clinical expertise, manual therapy where appropriate, education and individualised rehabilitation programmes to reduce pain, restore movement and optimise long-term performance.

Throughout his career, Stefan has worked with everyone from elite athletes to everyday individuals, providing physiotherapy support to organisations including Partick Thistle FC, Hamilton Academical FC, the Scotland Women’s National Football Team, Highland Rugby 1st XV and Strathendrick Rugby Club. He has completed postgraduate training in acupuncture and dry needling, specialising in head, neck and facial pain, and is also an APPI Pilates Level 3 certified instructor.

Before becoming a physiotherapist, Stefan spent four years with the Canadian Armed Forces as a Physical Exercise Specialist, working alongside doctors and physiotherapists to develop rehabilitation and performance programmes for injured military personnel. This experience shaped his belief that successful recovery is built on expert guidance, movement, education and empowering people to take control of their health.

Outside of work, Stefan enjoys exploring Scotland with his wife and dog Toby. A former competitive ice hockey player and bodybuilder, he now spends his free time strength training, cycling, baseball and hiking, giving him first-hand insight into the physical demands of sport and active lifestyles.
